This page explains how SoundBirth handles personal information and the terms that apply when you use soundbirth.com.au, book a service or buy a product. Specific details shown on a product page, booking page or in an individual written agreement also form part of your purchase. Nothing here excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.

Privacy

Information we collect and why

When you contact us, subscribe, book or buy, we may collect your name, contact details, billing and delivery details, order and booking information, and messages you send us. If you choose to share information about your pregnancy, health or support needs, we use it to respond to your enquiry and provide an appropriate service. Please share only what is relevant. We may also collect website usage information through cookies and analytics tools.

We use this information to answer enquiries, fulfil orders, arrange and deliver services, process payments, provide customer support, maintain business records, improve the website and send updates where you have agreed to receive them. Transactional messages about your order or booking may still be sent if you unsubscribe from marketing.

Marketing and sharing

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the email or by contacting us. An enquiry or purchase does not automatically mean you have subscribed to marketing.

We use service providers where needed to run the website, process payments, manage subscriptions, deliver orders and communicate with customers. These may include Squarespace, payment providers, Substack, delivery companies and product suppliers. We share only the details needed for those tasks. Some providers or suppliers may process information outside Australia. Their own privacy policies may also apply when you use their services. We do not sell your personal information.

Storage, access and questions

We take reasonable steps to protect information against misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure. We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above and any applicable record-keeping obligations.

To ask what information we hold about you, request a correction, or raise a privacy concern, email nicole@soundbirth.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time. Where applicable, you may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Website and service information

SoundBirth provides education and practical experiences using voice, breath, music and sound for birth preparation, wellbeing and professional learning. General information on this website is educational and does not replace individual medical, midwifery or mental health advice. Contact your qualified healthcare professional about your circumstances, especially if you have a health concern or questions about using sound during pregnancy or birth. SoundBirth does not promise any particular birth, health, business or financial outcome.

Professional participants remain responsible for working within their own training, qualifications, insurance and scope of practice. Completing a session or training does not by itself confer a healthcare qualification, professional accreditation or permission to use SoundBirth branding. Any certification, directory listing or brand licence must be expressly included in the particular offering or a separate written agreement.

Information, availability and prices on the website may change. The details confirmed at checkout or in an agreed booking apply to that purchase, subject to your legal rights.

Bookings, training and digital products

Please check the description, format, location, inclusions and price of a service or digital product before paying. If you need to change or cancel a booking, contact us as early as possible at nicole@soundbirth.com.au. Any specific cancellation or rescheduling terms will be shown when you book or agreed with you in writing. If we need to cancel a service, we will contact you to arrange another time or an appropriate refund.

Access to training materials or digital downloads is for the purchaser's personal learning or, where the offering expressly permits, their own professional practice. Do not copy, redistribute, resell, share login details or publish the materials without written permission. Any ongoing mentoring, listing, certification, licensing or support is included only if stated in the offer you purchased.

Orders and delivery

Product pages and checkout describe the items, prices, delivery charges and inclusions for each order. We will send an order confirmation to the email address you provide. Delivery estimates, including any stated two-to-three-week estimate, are estimates rather than guaranteed dates. If an item is unavailable or delivery is significantly delayed, we will contact you about the available options and your rights. Please check that your delivery address is correct and contact us promptly if you need to change it.

Returns, refunds and consumer guarantees

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If an item arrives broken, is faulty, is not as described, or a service does not meet a consumer guarantee, contact nicole@soundbirth.com.au with your order details and an explanation. Photos of damage are helpful, but your statutory rights do not depend on reporting a problem within seven days or completing a particular form. Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund, cancellation or other remedy under the law.

For a change of mind, contact us before returning a physical product or cancelling a booking. We do not automatically offer change-of-mind refunds, but we will tell you what options are available for the particular order. This does not limit your consumer guarantee rights.

Intellectual property and community conduct

Unless otherwise indicated, SoundBirth website content, learning materials and branding belong to SoundBirth or their respective rights holders. You may view the website and use purchased materials as permitted above, but need written permission for other reproduction or commercial use.

If you comment on SoundBirth channels or participate in a group session, respect others' privacy and do not share identifying information about clients or participants without their permission. We may moderate or remove abusive, misleading, spam or privacy-infringing content. If participation in a service raises a serious conduct concern, we will discuss reasonable steps with you, subject to your legal rights.

Concerns and applicable law

For an order, service or privacy concern, email nicole@soundbirth.com.au so we can try to resolve it. These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, subject to any rights that cannot legally be excluded. We may update these terms for future use of the website or future purchases; changes do not remove rights arising from an earlier purchase.
